An article by Gary Torrell describing a recent Ninth Circuit decision about a conflict in the Bankruptcy Code between the rights of tenants and property owners, is featured in the January issue of Los Angeles Lawyer, a publication of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Mr. Torrell is Practice Leader of the firm’s Business and Finance, Real Estate, and Creditors’ Rights practice areas.

Both a transaction lawyer and a litigator, Mr. Torrell has over 30 years of legal and business experience. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, he held senior legal executive positions at several major banks, and while in private practice was a partner at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, LLP.

A graduate in business from the State University of New York, Buffalo, Mr. Torrell received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
