Attorneys, like other professionals who advise persons with respect to personal tax and financial matters, are now required by federal law to inform their clients of their privacy policies regarding client information. As you know, both professional ethical standards and state law require attorneys to maintain the confidences of their clients. These standards are generally more stringent than those imposed under the new federal law. For that reason, you should rest comfortably with the knowledge that your confidences have been, and will continue to be, properly maintained.
In the course of representing our clients, we are often asked to give advice concerning personal tax (income, gift, estate and other) and financial matters. To render that advice, we often request and receive significant personal financial information concerning the client. If you are a client of Valensi Rose, PLC, you should know that all information we receive from you or about you is held in the strictest of confidence, and is not released to others outside the firm (except in those instances where you have authorized or directed us to provide such information to third parties.) In summary, our policy with respect to your privacy is to maintain your confidential information in the strictest manner.
Information you provide us is added to and becomes a part of your permanent file. To preserve the confidences contained within your permanent file and within the email we send you, we employ physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect such items, and the confidences contained therein, from unauthorized access. We keep your permanent file until you request it back from us or it is destroyed in accordance with the terms of our retainer agreement. None of the information contained in your permanent file is shared with any person outside Valensi Rose, PLC, except in those instances when you have asked us to share such information with others.
If you have any questions regarding our privacy policy please contact our office administrator, Michael Kosiba, at 310.277.8011.
