Rachelle H. Cohen spoke about ethical marketing practices for legal professionals at on Jan. 16 meeting of the Westlake Lawyers Affinity Group of ProVisors. Her talk focused on new requirements related to the passage of Senate Bill 37.
The law, which became effective Jan. 1, provides new protections for consumers seeking legal services while also imposing new rules on how lawyers and law firms market their services.
ProVisors is a national networking organization. The Westlake Lawyers Affinity Group provides education and professional advancement opportunities in an informal setting. The January lunch hour meeting was held at the offices of the SoCal IP Law Group, on Westlake Blvd.
Rachelle’s areas of practice include legal ethics consulting, business and real estate transactions, and estate planning. She serves as an outside “in-house” counsel to many of her clients, providing day-to-day guidance on legal challenges that arise in their businesses.
Rachelle speaks and writes frequently about business entities and transactions, and legal ethics. In addition, she has taught a course at the USC Gould School of Law on contract drafting and strategy.
